Why are ink, permanent marker and makeup stains so difficult to remove? They are considered pigment stains - they are not water soluble and thus cannot be removed in normal cleaning.
Portable carpet extractor with an upholstery cleaning head
Start by applying a damp ring of water around the outside of the ink stain making sure to not wet the ink with water. This will stop the ink from spreading past the ring during the removal process.
Wet the ink stain with Ink Exit, but do not saturate through the carpet backing.
Using the vacuum only (no water through the tool) slowly extract the Ink Exit and ink or other pigment stain from the carpet.
If stain is still visible, repeat steps 2 and 3 until the ink (or other pigment stain) is gone.
Rinse the area with water through the extraction tool.
